Specimen weight: 325 grams

This beautiful iron was found in the Rub'al Khali also known as the "Empty Quarter" in Saudi Arabia. Many pieces with a total known weight of around 2500 kilograms have been found near the Wabar craters. There are several small meteorite craters in the sand dunes, and they are famous for Wabar gass and "pearls" small black droplets of glass. These are very rare. This meteorite is an iron, Medium octahedrite (IIIAB).
