Pallasite

This specimen is a large complete slice. Quinjingue is an older pallasite, and the crystals are almost all opaque. A few show some translucency but most do not, and it is not stable enough to cut thin.

The  Quinjingue meteorite was found in Bahia, Brazil in 1984  by a farmer digging holes to plant trees. It was more than 1 meter underground. A single mass was found, weighing 59 kilograms. No further pieces have been located, despite intensive searches.
