Lamont

This beautiful meteorite is a rare class called a Mesosiderite. The Lamont meteorite was found in the 1940s in Greenwood County, Kansas. A single stone was found in a fence row on a farm. It weighed 38.69 kilograms and was used for many years to hold down a tarp on a tractor! Lamont is a beautiful and hard to get mesosiderite.
