Axtell

This rare Carbonaceous Chondrite (CV3.0) was found in McLennon County, Texas in 1943. It was not recognized as a meteorite until decades later. A single piece weighing 6.2 kilograms was plowed up on a farm. Axtell is very similar to Allende, but scientific analysis long ago precluded them from being paired, and it exhibits weathering proving it to be much older and not a witnessed fall. This meteorite is a must for any Carbonaceous chondrite collection, and it is quite hard to find these days.
