The Juvinas meteorite fell on
June 15, 1821 at 15:00 hrs in Libonnes, Ardeche, France. After a
large fireball and explosions, a single large stone weighing 91
kilograms fell near the village of Libonnes.
Juvinas is classified as an
Achondrite, Eucrite (AEUC). It is well known for the amazing
glossy black fusion crust that looks like molten plastic.
