This meteorite was found
near Chuquicamata, Chile deep in the Atacama desert in 1997
by soldiers surveying a minefield with metal detectors. The
meteorite was a complete oriented piece that weighed 20.6 kilograms.
It is classified as a medium octahedrite, (IIIF). This is a
very rare class with only 6 known specimens.
