Chadong

The Chadong main mass.
This is the entire mass, less 400 grams cut off. The main mass has been
sold.
The Chadong meteorite fell in far western China, in the Hunan Province
on September 17, 1998 at 1900 pm. A single stone fell in a farmyard
where the farmer saw the stone fall and immediately recovered it. It
was a complete chondrite, L6 and the stone weighed 3.7 kilos. I purchased
the entire stone from a Chinese fossil dealer who had bought it from
the finder. I have cut 200 grams from the stone. This is the only piece left from the mass for sale.
